Former Cal quarterback Nate Longshore wasnt offered a contract following his appearance at the Miami Dolphins mini-camp last weekend, but there is still a chance the team could invite him to training camp.

Longshores agent, Erik Burkhardt, said the Dolphins havent decided yet on the 80 players they want to bring to training camp. But he was told Longshore still is a possibility.

Burkhardt is encouraged by the fact that Miamis third quarterback is rookie Pat White, who may be used in other ways besides behind center. That could give Longshore a chance to make the team as a practice squad player because White may be doing other things that would keep him from helping provide the defense a look as the practice squad quarterback.

Burkhardt expects to know whether Longshore will be invited to camp over the next few weeks. He said although a few other teams expressed interest in his client after the draft, Miami is the best option at this point because those other teams have likely moved on.
