--Rookie WR Davone Bess had a career-high nine catches for 74 yards, and now has averaged 81 yards a game over the past three games. Bess' nine catches is a new franchise record for a rookie receiver, and one shy of the mark of any Dolphins rookie. He has been getting plenty of opportunities since WR Greg Camarillo went down with a season-ending knee injury three games ago.
"I'm always prepared. Coach stresses every receiver has to be ready on every play, run the route like you're the main receiver, so I'm expecting the ball," Bess said.
--OLB Joey Porter started a new sack streak Sunday with two, giving him an NFL-best 16.5 sacks. His streak of nine straight games with at least half a sack had ended last week against the Rams. Porter also forced a fumble that was recovered by DE Vonnie Holliday to cap off the victory. Porter has had two or more sacks in four games this season and 17 over his career. He is two shy of tying the franchise high.
--K Dan Carpenter made his first three field goals Sunday before missing a 48-yarder in the waning moments. He made 14 in a row, extending his franchise mark for a rookie kicker and tying an NFL record. Former Giants kicker Ali Haji-Sheikh did it for the Giants in 1983 when he was a rookie and Bill Parcells was a rookie head coach. "I thought I hit it pretty well. I was able to stick it from 50 (yards) earlier in the game. It kind of started a little right and it just stayed out there," Carpenter said about his first miss since Oct. 26 against the Bills.
