--The Dolphins held the ball for 12:02 in the fourth quarter, the seventh time this season they've had it for more than 10 minutes in the final frame.
"I think that in the fourth quarter of the game there is not a lot of panic out there," coach Tony Sparano said. "The guys go about their business in a workmanlike fashion. I really like their demeanor on the sideline in the fourth quarter of the game. ... (At halftime) we just talked about the fact that the fourth quarter has been a really good quarter for us, and these guys went out and seized it."
--The touchdown receptions by TEs David Martin and Anthony Fasano (two) mark the third time this season that two different tight ends caught TD passes in the same game. The previous week, Martin and rookie Joey Haynos did it, and Martin and Fasano did it against the Jets in the season-opening 20-14 loss.
"In these conditions, you rely on your tight ends and your running game," said Fasano, whose 14-yard touchdown catch provided the winning margin with 4:08 to play. "We were able to do that. We scored when we needed to and scored more than them to win. It was that type of game."
--CB Andre' Goodman had one of the best games of his career with five pass breakups and an interception. He is tied for the team lead with three picks, also matching his career high. He had a career-best 55-yard return off the pick. It was the longest interception return by a Dolphins DB since Terrell Buckley took one back 74 yards for a touchdown on Dec. 21, 2003, against Drew Bledsoe and the Bills. Goodman knows Brett Favre and the Jets will present a huge challenge Sunday.
"The combination of (Laveranues) Coles and (Jerricho) Cotchery with Brett Favre, that's what it boils down to and them running the offense," Goodman said. "Coles is a deep threat, and Cotchery is more of a possession receiver who's been making big plays all year long. Again, no different than what we've been facing over the last couple weeks. It's just about us executing."
